Monkey has access to some Tron-like disc, which lets him navigate at fast speeds. It's not clear whether this is out of love or empathy, but what is clear is the slow growth in their relationship, from when they first met. Shortly before their final battle, Trip releases Monkey from his enslavement, but Monkey requests her to turn it back on, showing he's in it to the end. When they return to her village and see her entire village slaughtered, Monkey was very empathetic and understanding on Trip's decision to kill those responsible and continues to enslave Monkey until this is done. They bond more over a campfire, with Trip extending an olive branch to Monkey, saying he can stay with her at the village, as he had no home, family, or friends to go back to.
However, he starts to rely on Trip more, as she starts to prove her worth in his eyes. The journey starts off rough of course, with Monkey wanting to take charge and get it done as quick as possible. At first it starts off in the worst way possible, Trip enslaving Monkey to escort her back to her village. Everyone's voice acting is on point, and helps you be immersed into the game. The outdoor scenery looks fantastic, with foliage taking over the remnants of the city. It's a shame at the console's poor performance, because the higher frame rate really lets the animations shine. Seeing Monkey preparing to jump, then leap from platform to platform, flailing his arms, to the next platform is a sight. It is crazy to see how well animated this game is, especially for the main character, Monkey. This game still looks beautiful to this day, thanks to great art design and well done animations.
